Keeping Up With the Joneses: The Importance of Skin Care Upkeep

Importance of Skin CareIt would be nice if you only had to take care of your skin, hair, and body once a year. However, just like with anything, you need to keep up on the maintenance of it all in order to see the best results. To make sure that your skin continues to stay the well-oiled (not too oily, because you don’t want to breakout) machine that it is, you need to get into the routine of getting a few of the following things done at our office on a fairly consistent basis.

Chemical Peels

In order for you to get the best results from your chemical peel, you should have at least 3-5 of them done around every three weeks. During every chemical peel, layers of your skin will be targeted and the production of newer, healthier skin will grow. However, remember that because your skin is targeted deeper every time that you need to be getting them done on a semi-regular basis.

Microdermabrasion

If your main area of concern on your face is the fact that you have fine lines and wrinkles, you may want to consider getting microdermabrasion done. Microdermabrasion involves using tiny crystals to get rid of the top few layers of your skin in order to reveal a younger, healthier complexion. However, once you commit to getting at least one session of microdermabrasion done then you should commit to getting multiple treatments. Similar to chemical peels, you are going to get better results from microdermabrasion if you do it multiple times.

Botox

Botox is an injectable used to treat the fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes and forehead by temporarily relaxing your facial muscles. Lasting an average of 3-6 months, in order for you to maintain your results, you will have to get injections done on a regular basis.

Getting smoother, healthier skin doesn’t just happen overnight— in fact, it requires a fair amount of upkeep.
