How to Get Rid of the Never Ending Pimple
One of the biggest concerns that we see patients for at our office is younger, healthier looking skin. But sometimes, no matter how hard you try and how diligent you are with taking care of your skin, you can still end up with a pimple or two. With regular acne, it usually clears up with the right skin care products, but if you have a pimple that keeps coming back over and over again, the problem may be a little different.
Bacteria
Having a reoccurring pimple can feel like you’re living a reoccurring nightmare. The good news is that with proper treatment, you can usually get rid of your pimple. The first step is to come into our office to get your skin looked at. More than likely, your pimple keeps coming back because of bacteria. When there is too much bacteria on the skin, pimples can resurface or new pimples can come up right next to your old one. Another problem is that when you pop a pimple, it spreads the bacteria from the pimple to the surrounding skin, which can lead to more breakouts.
How to Treat Bacteria
Typically, a clean face means fewer bacteria, but sometimes if the bacteria is so deep, you may need antibiotics. Usually, we can treat patients bacterial acne with a combination of treatments like facials and skin care products that contain acne fighting ingredients in them like salicylic acid.
As long as you’re consistent with practicing good habits like washing your hands before you touch your face and using your skin care products religiously, you should notice some severe improvements in our skin.
