Have Sun Spots? How to Get Rid of them and Avoid Getting New Ones This Summer

Get rid of Sun spots and avoid getting new

Get rid of Sun spots and avoid getting new, If you just got back from spring break with a few hangovers and some new sun spots as well.

If you just got back from spring break with a few hangovers and some new sun damage, you may be wondering how on earth you’ll get rid of them. Here at Skin & Laser Surgery Center, we offer patients a variety of different treatments to help you get rid of skin concerns like sun spots.

Laser Resurfacing

The number one way that we treat patients who have sun damage is with laser resurfacing. During this treatment, we use a laser to target the top few layers of your skin. As the layers of skin naturally peel off, so will your sunspots, which result from exposure to the sun. Depending on how many sunspots you have and how pigmented they are, we may recommend that you undergo multiple treatments over a several month period. During your initial consultation with us, we will go over everything with you and will let you know how many sessions will give you the best results.

How to Avoid Future Sun Damage

One of the things that we tell all of our patients is that just because you get rid of current sunspots, it won’t protect you from getting new ones in the future. So, how can you avoid getting new ones? A combination of shielding your face from the sun with a large brimmed hat and a broad-spectrum sunscreen over SPF 30. In fact, we encourage all of our patients to not even leave the house unless they have a broad-spectrum sunscreen on every day, even when it’s not sunny out; that way you know your skin is always protected.

Having sun spots can make your skin look more aged than you actually are. If you want to learn a little bit more about how you can get rid of sun spots and other sun damage, schedule a consultation by contacting us on our website or calling (617) 381-1717.
